In my blog, I explore issues that women face, from the deadly serious to the seriously inane. Plus, I look at and respond to coverage of women in the media — the bad, the uninformed and the just plain annoying. I’ll bring up topics that my friends are buzzing about, call for activism on issues close to me, and tell you about my favorite books or articles or bags I love.

I’m a copywriter and editor at a really cool, progressive company. I’m currently working on a book about my Smith College class titled “Whatever Happened to the Feminine Mystique?” and that takes most of my free time. I also enjoy co-producing the radio show B-Side (bsideradio.org), doing yoga, running and playing with my cat.

The mainstream press does a rotten job covering issues around women’s lives. Blogs have to fill that gap. There is such a yearning to see ourselves reflected realistically, beyond the media hype. My blog seeks to do that, in a space that is funny, critical and provokes deeper insights than the superficial headline news.

Since March 2006.

I have no idea! I wish people left more comments — people will often e-mail me directly because they’re uncomfortable with posting.s

Women who want to engage on topics about their lives, working moms, feminist thinkers, college coeds, and the men who love them!

No more than an hour a day. I wish I could spend more time with it, especially because I need to promote the blog better by posting on other blogs and so on.

You’ll find commentary here that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s a smart, fun place to go on issues about women, the media and stuff I like.

Write every day, or as much as you can. Fresh posts keep the readers coming back.
