Let’s talk about books and reading, writing and writers. And maybe about life, too. And food. And family. And my debut novel TENDER GRACES to be released Spring 2009. And life lived in a cove on a mountain at Killian Knob smack in the Smokies, with a retired hubby and a fat old lazy labrador.

I’m a writer, editor, and co-managing editor of The Rose & Thorn Literary Ezine. It’s a, um–that word–you know, the “Job” word; but danged if people think at times that what I do is a hobby, since I do this at home and really, as I type this, I am in my jammies! But, I work, and I work hard–truth is, though, it’s the most wonderful Living in the world (I don’t want to call it a “job” after all, do I? The word “Job” carries too many yawns and frustrations in it’s three letters).

The Tender Graces blog went live in January 2009, but I’ve been blogging about my writing process for a couple of years (on another blog).

Tender Graces blog began January 5, 2009!

Well, I’ve had the blog about two months, and I have almost 7200 visitors so far – so that averages about 120 a day or so? Right? Dang, I am horrid at math – anyone out there who looooves math can see if I got that one right! *smiling*

No, I don’t blog for income…and I doubt I ever would. Then all the fun would be taken out of blogging, for then it’d become a Job (that word again!) and once something becomes a Job, I become quickly bored with it, and once I’m quickly bored with something…well, then I do not want to do it any longer and look for ways to avoid it! ha!

Writers, editors, people who love books and reading – but also, women in general– and especially perhaps Boomer Women. Although, I do have some really great menfo’k coming by my blog and I love hearing from them. Dang, I should just say EVERYONE loves my blog and EVERYONE would be interested in it *teehee*…
I can’t forget those who love nature and mountains and critters – they’d love my blog, too.
Oh, now I’m becoming itchy – because I hate tootin’ my own blogging horn or any other horn tootin….*blush*

The actual writing of posts doesn’t take long since I’m a quick prolific writer, but when I visit, I have to set aside at least an hour or more to visit, read, and then comment on blogs. I do visit everyone who comes to make a comment – even if I can’t get to it immediately, I do get ’round to it.
After TENDER GRACES is released, however, I will have to lock myself in a room and start working on the draft I have of the second novel in the Virginia Kate trilogy. So, blogging will be cut back to a day or two a week until that book is shined to within an inch of its language.

Why? Because writers are needy and we need you and love you and…well, actually, we REQUIRE you – we are literary vampires who want to suck the interest out of you…without you, we are writing into the wind where our words slap back into our own faces; we are in a void in space – we must have you come read us! If you ignore us, we become sad creatures, walking about touching things and hitching up little sobs – it’s quite pitiful, I can assure you.

Be honest. Be True. Write what you know – and that doesn’t always mean in some “concrete” or literal way. Put some photos or something interesting to catch the eye on there, too…even the “serious” blogs can use a little Oomph.
Give of yourself in some way where people feel as if they can relate.
Be funny. Be honest. Be brash. Be bold. Be You. Be.
