As per the name e-clecticism I have a wide variety of interests that cover a whole range of subjects. Rather than blogging about just one particular thing and limiting myself, I wanted to make posts on all kinds of things. Anything I find interesting in the hope that someone else will find it interesting as well. Photography, Space, Art, Comedy, SciFi, Film or just something I come across on my travels through the web.

I used to be the IT Manager for a software company but I was made redundant in 2008 and eventually started working for myself as an IT Consultant. I should have done it years before but was always afraid of the unknown I guess. The redundancy gave me the push I needed and I haven’t looked back.
Blogging is just a hobby and I try not to let the two crossover.

I suppose like many people I just wanted a small corner of the web to lay down my thoughts and make my mark. To find out that some other people are enjoying what I am writing about is an added bonus which I think is great.

I started e-clecticism in January 2008. The blog has been quite cathartic for me through some tough times and I still look forward to updating it as often as I can.

It used to get around five unique visits per day including me but it recently got featured on Blogger’s “Blog Of Note” and now it is around two hundred and rising which I am tremendously happy about.

No I don’t blog for money and the site doesn’t feature any advertising. I am happy to pay for the running costs of the site. The enjoyment I get from it makes that more than worth it.

Well as I say in my profile, I am a nerd/geek and proud of it. The blog is predominantly techy as well so I guess it will appeal to like minded technophiles but I really hope that some of the posts will appeal to others. I try to be as broad as possible.

I try and make at least one post a day (I don’t always succeed) so I guess I spend about an hour a day. I often schedule several posts to appear over time though as a busy workload can keep me away from desk for extended periods.

Well hopefully there is something for everyone and you never know you might get to learn about something new.

I suppose to try and make posts on a regular basis. Not necessarily everyday but regularly. I am subscribed to lot of otherwise excellent blogs that just seem to dry up.
Also, keep spreading the word. Cross-post to Facebook, Twitter etc. The more pairs of eyes that see your pages the more subscribers you will get.
