Cycle Chic- Mikael Colville-Andersen

Mikael Colville-Andersen

blogabout
Streetstyle and bicycle advocacy in high heels from the World’s Cycling Capital – Copenhagen – where fashion and bicycles have gone hand in hand for over a century.

blogliving
I’m a film director, journalist and photographer and I run the blog – as well as a couple of others – on the side.

whystartblog
I thought it interesting that cycling in other countries is regarded primarily as a sport or a recreational activity and that cycling requires ‘equipment’ and odd clothes.
Which is strange when you consider that 500,000 people in Copenhagen ride their bicycle to work each day in their regular clothes and on normal, comfortable bicycles.
Combine that with the fact that Copenhageners have an impeccable sense of style. I thought it to be a good idea to highlight how the bicycle is a normal part of life and to inspire others to ride.

howlongblog
The blog was inaugurated two and half years ago. Or perhaps that should read inblogaurated.

howmany
I average between 2000-3000 visitors a day. Add to that about 1000 visitors on the sister blog www.copenhagenize.com

income
I earn some cash on adwords, but not that much. I have, however, designed successful designs that sell well on t-shirts, stickers and posters through cafepress.com. In addition I have published a calendar on lulu.com which has sold like hotcakes.

It also have advertisting for a bicycle brand which is lucrative.

interestedblog
Most of my readers are fashion and streetstyle orientated and there is also a large group of bicycle-interested readers who visit each day.

howlongday
About 1 hour. The photos are taken on my journey to and from work on my bicycle.

I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone to subscribe to my blog. I’ll merely suggest they click on through and see if it’s something for them.
