I've definitely seen blogs where people have put up messages to their readers announcing their retirement from blogging due to bosses or friends finding out about their blogs. Bloggers should be aware that the Internet is not a land of anonymity. If your name is attached to something, assume that your mom, girlfriend/boyfriend, boss, and neighbor all have found your "hidden" blog.

Should everyone blog "anonymously"? Is that cowardly or smart?

Dan is just trying to tarnish my good name because I hid his mouse for three days.

As for who you should tell and who you shouldn't I guess it depends on what you want to blog about. In theory you should be able to blog about anything you want to but this isn't always a good idea in reality.

What if you put a post saying "I hate my job and I'm going to quit as soon as possible", a few days later you might find yourself in the dole cue.

Haha, I guess maybe it's better when your boss doesn't know you have a blog.

It brings up an interesting question: Who should you tell about your blog, and who shouldn't you?

Some days he really will spend hours doing stuff for his blog, then our boss sees what he's doing and tells him to get back to work.
