I spent 20 years in mental hospitals and day programs with numerous diagnoses of serious mental illness. I was given drugs and told I would need them the rest of my life. The “experts” were wrong. They are wrong about a lot of things, and now I am an activist against psychiatric practices.
This blog is a personal blog, and I write about my daily life along with my activism. I have Multiple Sclerosis, which I am treating through diet, exercise, and supplements. I also have two white doves, my personal angels. The blog really is a mish-mash, but my passion is advocating for the rights of people labeled with mental illness.

I am a web designer for the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network and the Georgia Certified Peer Specialist Project

I actually started blogging to have a place to post my videos, mostly of my doves. Then I began posting about my life with MS. It turned into an anti-psychiatry blog seemingly on its own. That’s what it is now, mostly.

I’ve been working on this blog since September 2005.

I would guess that I get an average of 50 visitors per day. The numbers shoot up the day after I post, then they wane to about 30 a day until I post again.

The blog doesn’t generate any income. I haven’t tried, but maybe one day I will. I’ve thought about posting a PayPal button. It just feels like begging, which is something I ought to be doing!

Anyone who has been in the mental health system or has Multiple Sclerosis or loves birds might be interested in my blog. Many of the posts are videos, so that makes it more entertaining to some people. I have a lot of “general audience” visitors. But basically anyone who thinks outside the box and who cares about the rights and dignity of all people, regardless of their disability, would like this blog.

I probably spend an average of 2 hours a day on the blog.

I really don’t believe in “shoulds.” But if the blog interests you, subscribing is much easier than checking the blog every few days.

Visit as many other blogs as you can that deal with your subject manner, link to similar blogs, and leave comments as much as possible. Blogs are about community.
