Your Dark Passenger is THE source for darkly delighting thoughts and covers a wide range of dark topics. Real Vampires have been a major topic; however, I’m branching out into more areas of the paranormal, conspiracy theories, crime, phobia and depression. Oh…and of course there’s always the chance of the odd rant here and there – especially since WTF Wednesday is a favorite feature of readers.

I’m a freelance writer; however, Your Dark Passenger is less about the money for me and more about having a platform for uncovering the truth about misunderstood paranormal concepts.

I don’t really know. It was one of those things I just sort of started on a whim after responding to an ad about getting paid to blog.
It’s funny to go back to those first posts on the blog from before I had a clue what blogging was all about. They were so random and unfocused. I know I’m still a far cry from a “professional” blog since I refuse to focus on one and only one niche, but I’d say that I’m leaps and bounds beyond when I started.

That’s a layered question. I started the blog in November 2008, learned what blogging actually was in December 2008 and got serious about what I was doing on it in January 2009.

That varies anywhere from 250 to 600; however, 325 seems to be the current average.

At the moment, I make a very small amount off the blog. A very, very small amount is paid for the actual posts by Today.com and the bulk comes from traffic. At the moment, the income is solely from adsense ads, but I suppose that could always change. Even though I’m not big on promoting the product of the moment in each and every post, I can see the possibility of promoting the occasional product that I either actually use or think is funny in the future.
Within reason, of course. Somehow, I don’t think the Vampire Community would love having me sell diet pills to them. Some things just don’t make good sense, you know?

Wow. That’s a hard question to answer. I tend to portray things in a humorous or sarcastic way so I guess people who like that or dark humor would find something for them, even if they don’t care about vampires or the paranormal. People who are interested in vampires and the paranormal – obviously, right? – and anyone who considers themselves to be absolutely bonkers would have a good time there. (Don’t worry, I’m also bonkers so we’ll have something in common.)

Way too much!

Hmm…good question. I think anyone who enjoys any of the posts should become a subscriber so they don’t miss the madness. I mean, I’m fairly random so it’s not like I post at the same time of each day…but I do post daily. A subscription would save you from having to check the site 9 billion times a day for new content.
I also send a message out on Twitter each time I post on any of my blogs for those who don’t want to wait for the feed to come out.

My advice would be to select a topic you care about or you’ll never make it. The most successful blogs I’ve seen out there are about a single topic and…yeah. Could you even imagine writing day in and day out about forex trading (or whatever) when you don’t know anything about it and you don’t care? Yeah…I can’t either.
