My blog chronicles my adventures, mishaps and observations about the virtual world. I writes about art, music and the community of Second Life.
Chestnut is currently in the middle of a 365 Days project and posts a self portrait daily. This project is about creativity and photography even if it might appear to be about vanity.
Chestnut Rau is the event writer for New World Notes, the premier Second Life news blog. Second Life of My Dreams is her personal blog.

I am a university administrator in the New York City area. This blog is a hobby.

I always dreamed about being a writer. I figured I could put words out on the internet and if anyone read them it would be icing on the cake. I never expected to have a regular group of devoted readers who have become friends.
I started writing about virtual worlds because I was fascinated with what I was seeing. Despite the bad press you might see, Second Life is a great place for adults to explore creativity, business and education. It is a global village where you can meet scientists, fashionistas, singer songwriters, 3D virtual artists, stay at home moms, teachers, and on and on. There is something for everyone in Second Life and I want to write positively about my experiences.

I started my blog in November of 2007 and have written continuously, making SL of My Dreams over three years old.

Depending on the day, a few hundred people read my blog.

I have made no effort to monetize my blog. It is a labor of love.

Anyone interested in virtual worlds and digital art might find my blog interesting.

An hour at most.

I will point you to the cool art and live music happening in Second Life.

Write every day. Be honest and open.
