I’ve been asked for a “mission statement” for HoopsAddict.com a couple of times and it’s always been a struggle for me to put the right words down onto paper. However, after reading Rob Bell’s “Velvet Elvis” I now have the perfect description. In his book he wrote about what he envisioned for a church when he wrote, “the more honest, the more raw, the more stripped down we made it, the more people loved it. We had no five-year plan. We had no vision statement. We had no goals. We had no demographic. All we cared about was trying to teach and live the way of Jesus. It’s still all we care about.”
Similar to Rob Bell, all we care about is connecting with people, in particular fellow basketball addicts. This game has become a huge part of our lives for countless different reasons and this site was formed to provide fans with a forum for discussing the big events happening involving basketball all around the globe. Don’t worry, this site won’t be a place where myself or the other writers “preach” to you about God - we will however display our love for the game of basketball. At times our personal beliefs and our life experiences will creep into our articles but that’s just the way we write and pass on our passion for the game of basketball. Whether you agree, disagree or want to debate what we write your comments are always welcome as long as they don’t include profanity and are written in a respectful way.

Running HoopsAddict.com is just a hobby for me as I’m an elementary school teacher (a job that I love).

I started blogging on this topic because I wanted a forum to get my thoughts on basketball on the ‘net. Thanks to some help from fellow bloggers word about the site got out and it’s been great interacting with fellow basketball addicts around the globe.

I first started the blog nearly two years ago and it’s been a blast watcing it grow from something my circle of friends read to a blog that basketball fans across the globe read. During the past three months I’ve added writers from Spain, Brazil and Australia and it’s been great to have them writing about basketball around the globe.

Anywhere from 2000 to 5000 depending on the time of year.

Anyone who loves the gave of basketball will enjoy checking out this blog. Between interviews with college and professional players, weekly podcasts and articles from passionate fans this is a blog that you’ll want to check out daily to get your basketball fix.

Man, way too much! I’d like to say less than a hour but there are some days where I spend most of my evening working on podcasts, arranging interview and reading books to review on the blog.

I would like to recommend this blog to basketball fans because there’s a lot of multimedia content, daily updates and a lot of passionate fans like yourself writing articles and commenting on the posts.

Find ways to connect with other bloggers! It helps make the process more enjoyable and is a great way to get the word out about your site.
