I am an executive administrator for a start-up non-profit in the utility industry.
It is just a job. No more. No less.
I want to be a writer, creative and non-fiction, hopefully doing freelance.
My job is just that, a job. I do it for the money, until I can support myself through writing.
I never sat down and chose a topic to write about. I had read other blogs that were personal story-based and I became really fascinated by following people’s lives. I have never been afraid to share my life and I actually do enjoy the voyeurism that blogs provide. And, I like to make people laugh. And I don’t mind them laughing at me.
I began this blog in November of 2005. Almost two years ago now.
Sometimes hundreds, sometimes… 13. Sundays are SLOW. I have to post often to keep the traffic coming.
My blog income makes panhandlers on the DC streets look like they are raking in the bucks! I have some google ads but they don’t really produce more than a few pennies. I am currently looking into some other ads because I want to expand my audience and grow as a writer.
A twenty-something living in the Washington DC suburbs, someone who has too many pets and, is considering producing offspring.
Eeek! Depends on the day really. Sometimes I have a lot to say and I write longer entries. But, on average I spend about 30 minutes a day. I spend way too many hours READING blogs!
Because sometimes, I take pictures of my feet.
Oh! I also entertain at my own expense.
It can be hard to stay motivated when your stats are low. Mine are not anywhere near where I’d like them to be. Network with other bloggers, it is okay to stalk them a little, just be nice and friendly. Have fun with it. Don’t write to be like someone else, you have to love it or it won’t last for you.
