Midlife has been a time of great change for me and this blog is about exploring those changes. So it’s about my journey, and in writing about it, I have found a number of kindred spirits who are sharing similar experiences.

I am a former policeman who became a business owner and who is now employed full time as a sports administrator and count myself lucky to have turned one hobby into a career

I have been keeping a journal since I was in my late teens and blogging has become an extension of that. I started with this topic simply because it means something to me now. I can’t say that the blog won’t evolve and change over time as my journals have.

I only started it in April 2007.

On average around 20-30

This has never been about income for me but rather is more about the writing. In the early stages it was mainly about getting things off my chest, but as people started to visit and leave comments I began to feel part of a community and the comments and feedback have become very important to me.

It’s amazed me the actual diversity of visitors from around the world. The people who have become my friends seem to be those who also enjoy exploring how they feel about things. The midlife experience can hit people anywhere between 35 and 60 years of age and people either in that part of their life’s journey or who have already passed through it may find something worth reading.

At least a couple of hours – as much if not more time now visiting my friends and commenting where I can, as in writing myself.

I’d never tell anyone that they must subscribe. Read it and if you like it then I’d welcome you coming back.

It depends on how you measure success. At the end of the day most of us like the ego boost that knowing people read what we write gives us. In my opinion the best way to gain readers is to be yourself and to participate in the community that you build. Respond to comments on your site and make sure you visit others regularly. I’d also recommend joining some of the blog community websites like MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, Bumpzee and Technorati
