That was a very cruel comment that someone wrote about you on your blog. Thanks for the honest answer.

I won't pretend to not be flattered by it, Mike. It's nice to hear, and it's nice that they say that. However, I do tend to feel a little embarrassed and/or sheepish by that stuff. I don't really tend to think of myself in that way, so hearing it kind of catches me off-guard (as in, "Who's paying you to say that?!"). Plus, it always calls to mind the cruelest comment someone ever wrote about my blog - "You're just some hot dumb bitch with a bunch of guys drooling over you." (insinuating that the only reason people read the blog was because they wanted to "do me"). I would hope that people would read the blog because they are entertained by what I have to say...and I tend to post super unflattering pictures of myself just to lend the blog a little bit in that direction.

This brings up an interesting topic: Amber, how do you feel about your readers thinking that you're cute? I'm sure you'll be honest in your reply, and your readers will want to hear about it.

I first met Amber when she was racing stock cars in the Craftsman Truck Series, with her eyes set firmly on the brass ring of NASCAR. Although I had tried to run her off the track in a sneakily underhanded maneuver that could have cost her not only pole position but also her life, she still took the time to come and rescue me from my burning car after giving up her life dream, and beating out the flames that engulfed me with her PhD manuscript, a longhand original which sadly did not survive the fire. You don't meet many bloggers like that, let me tell you.
