An Amber-Colored Life- Amber

A 28 year old good-time girl works it all out on the web, applying the ridiculous, the angsty, and the snark all into one big pile of claptrap.

I’m a Behavioral Therapist, specializing in clients with autism. I love it, but it’s only a stand-in until I can make a career out of my true calling, which is Go-Go Dancing.

My friends were starting to become a little overwhelmed with my e-mail novellas concerning whom was skankier: Brit-Brit or Xtina. Also, I’ve always loved to write, and a blog seemed like a good format in which to take that love to the next level.

Almost three years. I actually went back and took some old posts off of the main blog because they were so crappy I was horrified that anyone had ever read them. Blogging (and having commentators) has been good that way…it has definitely challenged my writing skills over the last three years.

I rarely check my stats, but I believe at last count, on average, a consistent 150 visits a day. Some days it’s 400, on Sundays it’s about 20. Apparently God doesn’t like people reading blogs on His day.

It does. I create my own t-shirts through two online companies (which I link to the blog). A number of people had been commenting about how it would be cool to make t-shirts out of some of the post titles on my blog…thus, the idea was born. It has been fairly successful, monetarily wise. The best part is that my wardrobe has also grown exponentially.

Someone who doesn’t offend easily. Someone who likes sarcastic and perverse humor. Someone who is interested in the thoughts and views of a straight, white, and single girl in her late 20’s who has not, in fact, lived a thug life.

Close to an hour. Editing – punctuation, grammar, spelling – apparently is important to some people. Otherwise, the time would be down to about 20 minutes, max.

Because it’s ridiculous. I tend to not use my blog as a way to raise societal consciousness. Sometimes there might be some thought-provoking stuff on there, but if you already know how you feel about “Members Only” jackets, then those points might be moot.

Do it for fun. There are already too many bloggers out there who take themselves too seriously. We all have something to say, so you kind of have to ask yourself why someone else would want to hear you. My favorite bloggers are ones who don’t care whether or not people want to hear it – they’re gonna say it anyway! – and I’ve noticed that usually tends to be the road to both blogging success and notoriety.
