Photographing the Days- Lee

blogabout
A place where I post random photos of the latest happenings in my life.

blogliving
Haha unfortunately, I don’t make a living. I’m a junior in highschool and I’m unemployed (not for long though I hope!).

Photography is a passionate hobby of mine.

whystartblog
A few years ago…let’s say about 2006, I decided that I wanted to blog. Specifically, I wanted to have a photography blog. To this day, I’m not exactly sure why I chose photography. I don’t remember why it appealed to me so much.

I just remember that once I got started, I got addicted. Pressing that shutter button made me feel good haha. I can’t explain it really. But looking back, I wasn’t too great at it. That probably had a lot to do with me not fully understanding how a camera worked.

I think it’s safe to say now that I’ve definitely improved from my first few posts hahaha:

howlongblog
Well my first post is dated June of 2008. But I didn’t actually post again after that until January of 2009. That’s when I put up my first photo.

howmany
Usually around 110 when I update. If I don’t update, it steadily drops day by day, from 80, to 60, to 40, and then levels off around 30.

income
I used to have a few Google Ads up. I took them down though because of some ads appearing that I did not agree with. Plus I felt like they were sort of distracting.

Was it successful? Sort of. Not to a huge extent, seeing as I average about 100 visitors/day, and that’s only when I update.

interestedblog
To be honest, I’m not really sure. Judging from my dedicated readers though, I’d say that it’s hard to pinpoint a common relationship between all of them.

I guess I would say art/photography enthusiasts (duh, right?). I’ve noticed a lot of teenagers end up following the blog too. Probably because they can relate to me, as I’m also a teenager. Also, females. Now that I think of it, for some reason they seem to be the majority. Not entirely sure why that is, but I definitely don’t have a problem with it.

howlongday
Not very long at all. It usually takes me about 5 minutes to create a blog post. All I really do is post a couple photos and say a few words about them, and I’m done.

whysubscribeblog
Well definitely if you’re into art/photography.

But also if you like to smile. Because I’ve been told by many that my photos make them feel cheery, want to laugh, and/or smile. That always makes me feel good.

whatadvicebloggers
Definitely interact with your readers. If you don’t talk to them, they won’t feel like they have any connection with you and are likely to stop reading. In short, find time for your readers. (I think I’ve been guilty of not doing this on some occasions, and I regret it).

Also, find your niche. It’s okay to blog blindly. After all, that’s what I do. But have a certain focal point around all of the blindness….if that makes sense lol.

And finally, have fun with it. Don’t get frustrated if you’re not instantly famous over night. It doesn’t (usually) happen that way. Find other bloggers who blog about the same things that you do, and connect with them. Make a lot of friends, have guest bloggers, and you might start to get noticed.
