Just A Little Something began as an experiment in 2001 and over the years, it has taken shape into an interesting potpourri of travel, photography and lifestyle, trends, blogging and such distractions!

I work as a communications professional and blogging is just something I pursue as a hobby because I enjoy it a lot!

My interests tend to be in this area, and I also travel a lot, mostly within my own country (India) so the blog has evolved to reflect my experiences and perspectives along the way.

I began my blog around October 2001, when as a member of an editorial team we were looking at the blogs phenomenon overseas and in India. Initially, I hosted my blog with blogspot and then around 2004, I migrated to my own domain.

More than 1000 odd visitors.

I have Google Ads for a year or so now that gives me some revenue every other month. At least it takes care of my hosting and domain and a little more. Other than that, I haven’t though about any other commercial angle to it!

Anyone who’s interested in travel, photography, lifestyle trends, eating out, cuisines, cultures, movies, environment, blogging and just life in general!

It really depends nowadays. I began as a very avid blogger but with work and other pursuits, it’s difficult to update every day. Nowadays, I’ve settled comfortable frequency of posting around 6 times a month.

Anyone who’s interested in what’s happening in a country where we have over a billion people and a culture that has invaded different parts of the planet, can stop by and check out my blog! I try and maintain reasonably high standards when it comes to my blog posts. And I also try and give a lot of useful information for anyone who is interested in India. I do get a lot of people from all over the world who are interested in Indian culture, travel, life etc. who mail me.

Set up a reasonable blog frequency so people know what to expect. Try and establish some niche areas, which you think you can offer some expert opinions on or have something interesting/different to say. So your blog is top of mind, when someone things of that topic/s. Visit others blogs, and indulge in blog conversations, because ultimately, it’s all about going beyond your blog. Be generous with your blog links. I see a lot of people not linking at all. This means that they have no way of going to someone else’s blog from yours. I feel this “link love” is one important aspect of blogging so be generous! And be persistent, because it’s not something you can do in a month! It takes a few years to set up a loyal readership.
