Many of the news accounts of issues relating to international law and national security law lack the type in-depth analysis that this blog can provide. Exploring International seeks to go behind the headlines and provide this type of detailed analysis. It also seeks to discuss breaking developments in ways that the standard press cannot. For example, following the Supreme Court decision in the Hamdan case, posts provided extensive analysis before the press was able to fully engage the case. Over the time in which I have run this blog, I have received calls from the press and members of the policy community about posts. Moreover, Exploring International Law seeks to engage in dialogue with other blogs that address these issues. Exploring International Law draws upon analysis of other scholarly blogs and seeks to critique and build upon their commentaries.
