the scattered musings, random photography, occasional sketches, rants, raves, trials and travails of a thirtysomething who is slowly learning she doesn’t know everything - but won’t always admit it.

at the moment, i’m voluntarily unemployed. blogging is a hobby, much like knitting, only it doesn’t result in lopsided sweaters or eight-foot scarves. at least, not usually.

i blog on a myriad of topics, depending on what i’ve been doing/reading/thinking. much of it is narcissistic b.s. (and tagged as such), although i’ve been told i occasionally come up with something of greater social relevance than, say, the tale of an adult tonsilectomy.

checking back, my first entry was on july 30, 2002. so i’ve just had my five-year anniversary. or the blog’s just had it’s fifth birthday, which isn’t bad considering the switch from movable type to wordpress, and living on 3 different servers.

i’d estimate between 20 and 30 a day. soaking wet.

no income, no point. i shouldn’t get paid to amuse myself and the six loonies who keep tabs on me.

uff. can i look in the mirror and point? “someone like HER!”
there’s likely something for everyone, but you have to sift through a lot to find the gems. there’s some political commentary, some law commentary (and three years of bemoaning law school), a lot of amateur photography, and some mixed-media art. i’m sure there are also posts up that, if i re-read them, would have me curled up in embarassment in a heartbeat.

sometimes, none. other times, hours. it depends on my motivation, my free time, my boredom, and the relative achinesss of my right hand. repetitive motion stress ain’t fun.

i’m not into telling people why they should do things, unless it’s telling them to stop *!&#$@!! blocking my driveway. read some posts. skip around, check the links. if you like it, subscribe to it. if you don’t like it, move along; i’m sure there are other blogs out there for the likes of you.

succeed in what? goofing off? killing time at the office? amusing their friends and family?
blogging has become absurdly self-important of late. yeah, there are a bunch of socially and/or politically interesting bloggers out there, but they’re johnny-come-latelies in the eyes of this particular technogeek.
post what you like. link to what you like. and maybe someone will link to you. you may even get comments.
