Thought Sparks - Igniting Ideas for the Common Good. ThoughtSparks.net is tech-oriented blog with Web Helps, ideas, reviews and reflections for a more productive and enjoyable life.

I am a professional web developer and designer working full-time for a global manufacturing company.

I enjoy writing about practical solutions, making technical concepts easier for folks to understand and encouraging people to try new ideas and technology for their benefit.

I launched my blog five months ago in early April.

It ranges to upwards of 70 visitors during the week. I average approximately 35 per day throughout the month.

In the beginning I did some Google Adwords but pulled back looking for more strategic ways of generating income from the blog. I have not put energy yet into income generation through the blog as it’s primary focus is on giving real value to the reader. Recently I have started developing some concepts to start gaining revenue, primarily value-based donations and book recommendations through Amazon. These money generating ideas are coupled with some HTML, CSS and graphics tutorials that will be a value-added service to the reader.

The kind of people who frequent my site tend to be bloggers, techies, and anyone looking for help finding practical web solutions and core web design tips, techniques and concepts.

I spend between two to three hours per day writing, answering comments, reading other blogs and writing meaningful comments on their sites.

By subscribing to my blog you will find well-written content from a fresh perspective. You will get a mix of practical web and tech related information mixed with some unique personal perspective on life. The content of my blog offers the reader useful tools that will positively affect their life along with a positive perspective to encourage them in being more productive and satisfied in their life goals.

I would encourage new bloggers to generate original content, write what you are passionate about and maintain a high standard for what you publish. Steer clear of “get-rich-quick” or “get-your-blog-ranked-high” schemes and go for long-term goals of building a solid reputation with a loyal reader base. Try new things and develop your own unique voice in your blog publication. I would also encourage new bloggers to use appropriate visuals to enforce their subject matter. If one is serious about blogging, it would also be advised to getting your own domain early in the process and building your own brand identity, even if the brand is yourself.
