This is a blog about taking a slightly humorous angle on the legal issues in the technology field. I’m particularly interested in the legal implications of games, virtual worlds, open source, open access and software protection.

I’m a Lecturer in E-Commerce Law at the University of Edinburgh, so blogging is pretty much related to my job.

I wanted to keep up with the rapidly changing field of technology, and blogging forces me to stay updated and read the news all the time. If I miss something, my readers will email suggestions for new stories.

I started at the end of 2004, but the blog has only taken off properly since 2006.

It varies, but I am averaging 90 visitors per day (weekdays).

The blog’s tone is rather tongue-in-cheek, so this will appeal to those with a quirky sense of humour, particularly geek lawyers.

It depends, but I may spend up to one hour in the morning reading through my feeds to choose a story.

Because it’s fun. Yes, Cyber Law can be fun, particularly if you add llamas to the mix.

Keep at it, don’t let early numbers get you down. If you’re good, the audiences will come.
