Pick the bones out of painter, builder, teacher, rejected escort, aid worker and unemployed bum. This blog is an investment, so it doesn’t count as a job.

I had some time on my hands and I needed to keep my brain ticking over else I get boring. If you combine boring with married, that equals divorce, and I don’t fancy being in the Guinness Book of records for shortest marriage, so I keep my mind active ripping into topics I know quite well. (That’s the approach I suggest to all blokes who want to stay a long time on the computer without getting a rollicking from their wife.)

I kicked it off tentatively in September last year, blogged like a loony and haven’t looked back since. (The physio has been working diligently on the RSI in my neck from typing and it should be cured soon and I will be able to rotate my neck fully again.)

Stats are a favorite rant of mine because they are so inconsistent. If I listened to Google I would hang myself, if I read Awstats I am doing Ok and improving month on month, and if I go by my gut, I am the most popular blogger out there today.

I have deliberately  tried not to earn anything from The Pisstakers, so in that respect it is on target, all lights flashing. The theory is, one day it will blossom into a money magnet without me having to go through the embarrassment of those brand new blogs who proudly post first month earnings of 50 cents from Adsense and tuppence from a book they bought from Amazon

If you know a bit of geography, if you can take a joke, don’t take offence at the fact that there is a total lack of urine-based content on The Pisstakers, if you like to think outside the box now and again, or you are a blogger looking for a mini review on a super duper blog, this is for you.

I usually blog throughout the day in bursts in between fresh air, eating left overs, enjoying my wife’s company and caressing the cats with the toe of my left boot. Mixing it up a bit tends to keep me thinking and my Sundays have gotten better since I worked out a way to streamline MyBlogLog Sunday.

Subscribe, not because of the content, but because you like the clever job those french techies at x-fruits are doing collating all the different blog feeds within the pisstakers into one vast lump of satire.

I give far better advice for those who think they are failing. If at first you don’t succeed, go and have a drink and think about what you are doing wrong. Then go for a walk and think some more. Then go to bed, and in the morning, it will be clear that you need to stop thinking so hard and just get on with doing.
