My motto is “Life stings… and that makes me laugh.” I find humor in just about everything—usually my foibles. I love the freakishly bizarre as much as sweet charm (okay, I LOVE the freakishly bizarre…). It is my repository of the humor in my life and the humor in other people’s lives.

I work in Administrative Support at a large university (trust me, you’ve heard of it). I have also recently graduated from culinary school. The blog is strictly a hobby–easily noted by the sometimes long gaps in postings.

They say, “write what you know” and this is what I know: humor. I come from a family of teasers, so humor has always been a big part of my life. Also, being the youngest of four, one has to ‘make their mark’ and I used humor.

I’ve been writing Slap & Tickle since around 2001. However, I had a ‘zine of the same name that I was writing back in the early 90’s. Before that, I wrote a ‘zine called Block Talk that I started in the mid 1980’s–so I’ve been doing this for a while.

20 to 30 per day. I’ve only had 25,000 unique visitors, so I’m a microscopic little spot in the vastness that is the world wide web.

No income. I looked at advertising, but there are restrictions (I have been known to drop the occasional f-bomb), so I decided to just avoid the trouble. Besides, I’m not entirely sure anyone would want to advertise on my microscopic spot (which might make a good name for a blog…)

I’d say ‘gay’, but many of my friends are straight and they claim to enjoy it. So, let’s just say “liberals, who enjoy Jon Stewart and like watching YouTube embeds.”

Depends. Some days hardly at all, other days, 20 minutes. I’m really bad about spell checking and re-reading my posts. My writing is very stream-of-consciousness, which explains my poor grammar, bad syntax, and illogical comments.

Why not? Come on, if you’re reading blog interviews you’ve got time… Stop by, make that clicker move!

Don’t do what I do–I’m not that successful. Seriously, write for yourself. Let your voice come through and people will stop by and listen. Commenting is key, but here are some important rules:
1. Say something when you comment. Compliment, disagree, but ALWAYS be respectful of others.
2. Don’t pander. Anyone who writes “link to me” will never be linked to (at least by me).
3. Link to the blogs you read.

Okay, you hooked me with that passionate defense of Britney Spears.
What am I saying to all my friends? I’m saying “LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!”

You hooked me by getting less than I did on the 8th Grade Science Quiz.
