Love Ya, Mean It- Robin Costello

My blog is all about finding humor in everyday life.
It’s loaded with stories about Disney World, my family and friends, and several of my published articles for Associated Content.
I try to take a different look at life and find something funny about it. I believe we need to laugh as much as we need to breathe.
In life, you either have to laugh or have to cry. I think laughing is the better choice.

It’s a little of both. I am a writer but I try not to take myself too seriously. I show off some of my work but I also let people know what stupid thing happened to me this week.

I wanted to keep in touch with my kids who are grown and doing their own things now.
I also LOVE to make people laugh. Writing is just something I am passionate about and sharing it is a lot of fun.

August of 2007 is when I started it. I hate math, you do it. Math makes me dizzy and then I have to take a nap.

I get anywhere from 200-1000 depending on the season, the day of the week, what I wrote about, how often I update it…There’s a lot of things that affect my traffic.

Yes and no. I do have a tip jar that was doing okay for a while. Now with the economy the way it is, not so much. I need to get into that bailout line.
I understand though, times are tough for everyone. So no, at the moment it’s not making any money. I’ve only gotten one ‘tip’ for the month so far. (But holy cats, I really appreicated it)
On the other hand, it does bring attention to my published work and that puts some change in my pocket.

Anyone with a sense of humor. A real sense of humor, not people who are so politically correct that can’t bend over. (You know, because of that stick?)
People who have kids, like to travel or love Disney.
Oh, also people who passionately hate grasshoppers, snakes and spiders.

I spend every minute of every day. Seriously, I think about what I should write next all the time.
It had gotten to the point where people would say to me “This isn’t going to end up on the internet, is it?”

Is “because it would make me very happy” a good reason?
I honestly put a lot of work into my blog and try very hard to make it funny for everyone.
I don’t always hit a home run with my humor and I admit that, but I have had several ‘over the wall- home runs’.
Men are the hardest audience to get and I do have serveral men readers. I think that has to say something about what I’m doing.

Write and update your blog as often as you can. Be yourself when you write because people can see through the phony stuff easily. Try to make it interesting and if you can’t, put up some pictures.
People like pictures. Especially if it’s pictures of grasshoppers the size of a compact car.
