A Daily Dose of Zen Sarcasm- Maria

blogabout
The near-daily soapboxing of a domestic deity in the making.

blogliving
I’m a stay-at-home mom, an aspiring writer and poet, cook, buyer, cleaner, caretaker, curator, nerd, and a Martha Stewart follower who  preaches a crusade in support of the apostrophe in her spare time.  I realize none of this brings an income, but hey!  It’s a living.

whystartblog
I’ve always kept a journal of some sort and have enjoyed writing.  While I am a mother who blogs I don’t consider myself necessarily a mommyblogger– I like to write about things other than my issue and things that won’t necessarily make those in the audience who are child-free run screaming.
Having said that, I’m pretty sure I’ve blogged about things that have made most people run screaming more than once.

howlongblog
My Typepad blog has been ongoing since March of 2005, although I had started blogging back in June of 2004.  I used MySpace.  I still cringe about that sometimes.

howmany
Nosey, nosey!
I believe it’s somewhere between 55 and 65 people per day.  I’m not shattering any readership records here, but at least *someone* is reading.  And that makes me happy.

income
When I started to blog, I didn’t set out to  derive an income from it; however, through one of the blog affiliations to which I belong (the Crazy Hip Blog Mamas), I was able to put a discreet little ad that generates enough to pay for my Typepad membership.  I’m very grateful for it.

interestedblog
I know many of my readers also share in observing and laughing at the world that is around us.  Of course, fellow mothers who blog make up part of my readership, but I think that anyone who enjoys laughing at life and at its strangeness and who fancies him or herself a bit of a philosopher –regardless of whether they have a uterus or a prostate– would enjoy my blog.

howlongday
I blog five days a week and each entry takes between 45 minutes to one hour to write and proof– although sometimes I spend a whole day thinking about what to write, so I’m not sure just how well I can honestly answer that question.  Sometimes I wish I had more time to proofread, as one entry that whined about people’s carelessness writing had a particularly funny and atrocious typo.

whysubscribeblog
Because you enjoy reading funny, introspective and well-crafted prose.  Because you do not want to discriminate against my sense of humor on account of my estrogen levels.  And because you’ll hurt my feelings if you do not subscribe.

whatadvicebloggers
I like this question: it asserts that I am a successful blogger!
If you’re just starting to write and you feel that no one out there is reading *your baby* don’t despair!  There ARE people reading.  Link up to blogs you like; comment on blogs you like; join Technorati and other sites that compile and list blogs, and keep going!

Of course, if you’re doing it just to be trendy, maybe blogging isn’t for you.
