There are thrills and chills and laughter and tears…. Okay, my blog is mainly about whatever comes into my mind on the day I decide to write a post, though sometimes I do actually plan ahead. It does have some focus and mainly centers on either my illustrative work or the many antics of my children (and… alas, husband) who can make daily life oh so challenging.

I am an illustrator/designer both in job and hobby – I guess I’m lucky that way. Blogging falls into both categories for me as well.

Honestly? Because everyone else I knew who was in an artistic/creative field was doing it and I thought I had to. But that wasn’t a good reason to start one I found out and had nothing to say at the start. It was a really uninteresting blog to say the least.

I started my blog near the end of 2007 but really didn’t do much with it. As I stated before, it took me some time to figure out what I wanted to do with my blog, how to use it and to “find my voice”. So all in all, I would say I’ve really been dedicating time to my blog since about June 2008. Not that long really.

uhm… I do wish I could say in the thousands or hundreds even, but it really just depends on the day. I would say on average I hover around the meager 100 visits mark, though I am VERY grateful to those 100 people who do come and say hello!

No. I’ve seen the adsense ads on others’ blogs as well as other money making ideas, but I guess it’s just not for me. I have my blog as an extension of my business and maybe as my newsletter in sorts, but I don’t need to make money off of it. Plus I don’t like the way the ads clutter up the look. Asthetics are all very important you know!

In a nutshell? Happy people who enjoy a laugh and fun things. My illustrative work tends towards the joyful side of life and I have an overall optimistic attitude, even when I find my kitchen and toddler covered in a thick layer of Nutella.

I don’t blog every day, though I do think about it just about every day. I would say I write a new post about 3-4 times a week, depending on what is going on in my life. I try to read others’ blogs a few times a week as well.

It’s fun! (and I have freebies and giveaways too)

Be yourself. I know it sounds cliche, but with so many blogs out there, I think it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you have to do it one way or the other. My blog didn’t come together for me until it really started reflecting who I am.
