The general idea is to educate users in keeping their computers and identity safe, using plain English that hopefully will help newer users to the internet regardless of age. When their machines are infected, having the right tools and the right advice is important. The tools MUST be free, not time limited trial versions or shareware. Each is tested on a second computer by importing malware and viruses and using various programs to resolve any problems

It’s a hobby that has become a full time passion and takes up more hours than is healthy, but online security is important with so many new users connecting to the internet each and every day and not knowing where to start. Every little helps.

To help other users who are not so web ’savvy’ in a bid to educate them in using free alternatives to protect their equipment and identity, although many experienced readers find something of interest too, from security programs which are ever chnging to keep up with modern trends through to partitioning drives and backing-up data.

2 years ago as I started in March 2007 on Wordpress.com and in late December 2008 decided that it was time to take the plunge and host it under its own domain.

No income, no ads. I rely on donations to assist with the maintenance, but generally speaking I pay for the hosting and any other fees that are incurred.

Users interested in free alternatives to paid security programs, users seeking solutions to problems, video tutorials to show how programs work which appeal to a wide audience, and users of all ages.
It is a child safe site and all emails are responded too, but safety is the most important aspect.

12 – 14 hours per day, sometimes longer as I get several email enquiries for assistance and advice. I also participate in tracking down malicious sites and rogue / fake malware.

There is something for everyone. I was new to the internet once and something to always remember as I can relate to all users no matter what level of experience they have.

Don’t ever give up, it’s hard at first but find your niche and if you are happy with what you are blogging about then carry on. Don’t try to diversify and stay on topic.
