Life in Swansea, Gower & Beyond is the legend under which my personal blog lays. Essentially, it is about my family and I as we grow together and explore the world and varying experiences around us.

Whilst currently working as a civil servant, I continue to dream of one day making enough money to live on from my writing and photography.

I began blogging to let distant friends and family keep up with what I was getting up to. I later expanded into producing further, less personal blogs, such as www.welcometogower.co.uk, www.someplacedifferent.co.uk and http://swanseavalenaturereserv

I have been working on this blog for many years now and, when I find time, try to backfill entries with old diary excerpts and family album pictures.

My personal blog attracts only a dozen or so people a day whilst my Gower blog gets nearly 200 a day.

My personal blog really does not generate enough visitors to merit any kind of advertising but I have used Google Adsense on my other blogs with varying success.

I suppose people with families, people who like visiting unusual locations as well as people with a love of my home area of Swansea and Gower are the people who would find the most interest in my blogs.

typically spend around thirty minutes a day on my personal blog. My other blogs can take a good few hours up between them each week – not to mention the travel time etc. in visiting many of the locations I blog about.

To discover odd tidbits of information and to discover new and exciting places to visit and explore.

My advice to anyone starting out with a new blog is to just keep plugging away at it. In the end, I suppose I write just for my own amusement – if anyone else finds anything of interest in any of my blogs then it is a real bonus.

This is really some awesome advice. Keep it up, my colleagues would love this.
