I was a single mom for nine weeks. Then I placed my baby girl for adoption. This blog is the story of my pregnancy, my baby, and what it’s like to be a birth mother.

I am a personal and administrative assistant to a life coach who specializes in adults and teenagers with Attention-Deficit Disorder. I am also a licensed hairstylist.

I wanted my baby to know how she came to be, and how she ended up with her parents, and how much I love her.

Since September of 2009.

50 on a slow day, three times that on a good day.

I do not make any money from my blog.

Anyone who is interested in or curious about adoption – couples with fertility problems, young women facing unplanned pregnancies, families who have adopted children, and people who are themselves adopted. I like to think it also appeals to anyone who enjoys a compelling work of non-fiction.

An hour, give or take. Even if I’m not writing content, I’m almost always tweaking the layout, or adding a gadget, or fixing links.

There are other birth mom bloggers out there, but not many with the sort of gut-wrenching brutal honesty or quality writing that I offer, if I do say so myself. You might not always agree with what I have to say, but I can promise you’ll never be bored.

Stick with it. Don’t focus on how many people are reading or commenting, and don’t focus too much on whether you’re producing an income. Just make your blog something that you yourself would enjoy.
