Musings of a Mum raising her young children in a very rural, agricultural part of the UK, on a low income. I write about adjusting to the rhythyms of the countryside, having been brought up in a city, and trying to make our life choices work for us. I also write about the history and mythology of the area I’m living in.

I’m currently at home with the children, but do freelance marketing and communications work, when I can get it! My plan is to return to more regular work later this year, as the finances are straining. I love writing, and blogging is just a hobby.

I had no real idea what I was going to write about before I started blogging; I just wanted to potray an accurate description of my life, and the words just take me where they want to go.

Since April 2007 – only four months.

I really have no idea – sorry – I don’t know how I would find this out!

No, I have no income from my blog, unfortunately! It has worked, for me, in as much as I get some positive feedback and a sense of having found genuine friends through the internet, which I was sceptical about before I started blogging. One of the other things that works for me is that I find I really enjoy the discipline of writing regularly.

Anyone who loves the British countryside, who is raising children in a rural area, or hopes to one day; anyone who has struggled with the financial implications of staying at home with the children, or tried to juggle finanial responsibilities with family life.

I probably only spend about an hour or so a week writing my blog; but I spend probably an hour or more a day reading other people’s, and commenting.

Uh – I’m not terribly good at self-publicity – but I suppose I’d say that I enjoy writing it so much, it would be great if other people enjoyed reading it.

Just remember, it’s another form of chatting but one where you can introduce the conversational topics – so just relax and enjoy it.
