I had been reading other blogs and got the itch to start my own.

Not really. I have Google Adsense, but at this rate I won’t reach the $100 payout for another year at least. It doesn’t seem worthwhile at all.

Too much. I drop Entrecards which is time consuming and of course I have to read some of the blogs I visit card dropping.

Unless you want to write about ONLY one thing and you know that one thing well, I would stay away from a particular niche or topic. Your readers will come to expect only hearing about just that. There’s nothing wrong with it, you just might get bored with it. I follow quite a few blogs and I can see the writer’s interest wane after awhile because they can’t sustain that one topic. Gradually they begin to post less often and eventually they abandon their blog. I would also advise that you utilize Entrecard or one of the similar sites that use blog ads to increase your readership. I would also advise that you read other blogs and comment. You’ll be surprised at how much traffic you’ll get from your comments.
