I am a night shift nurse slash mother of two who started blogging as a way to update out-of-town family and friends about my ongoing journey of new-motherhood. Since then, it has become a journal of sorts in which I attempt to chronicle my experiences with the joys of motherhood, the highs and lows of employemnt as an icu nurse and the balancing act that is required to keep up both without going off the deep end.

I am a mother, wife, and nurse. I like to blend my job duties, so on any given day you can find me doing nursing duties at home, diaper duty at the hospital (on geriatrics no less) and in general, blurring the lines between family life, professional life and private life (haha, nothing is sacred for this girl).

I was brimming with motherly love when I first started this blog and was just certain that everyone I ever knew would want to know the exact sensation I had every time my milk let down. So, I had to start a blog to describe it. After I started it I began using it to document all kinds of experiences involving motherhood, going back to work, being pregnant while working a full time job and taking care of an infant, bringing baby number 2 home, etc…

About two years now.

I’m not sure. Sometimes its quite a few, but I imagine that many times its simply by accident. My booger sucking entry gets a whole lot of hits and I assume that many of them are new moms trying to google the exact procedure for retrieving boogers from an infant’s nasal passageways with the syringe device provided in most baby first aid kits.

I haven’t earned any income from my blog. But it has earned its weight in gold in the free therapy department.

New moms, old moms, nurses, working moms, friends and family and anyone interested in reading a thousand word long description of finding out that a cockroach had inadvertantly landed on one’s arm.

I don’t blog daily. Just a few times a month at this point.

If you find my particular style of prose appealing (humorous, slightly sarcastic, very naive motherhood type stuff) check my blog out. If you are a Republican, you probably won’t like my blog.

Well, I wouldn’t exactly say that I’ve succeeded at anything, so I’m probably not the best person to look to for advice. I never set out to become famous or anything. And I haven’t. But Ihave enjoyed putting my thoughts down and some people have expressed great enjoyment of my blog entries. That feels pretty satisfying. I might print all the entries out and make a little book for my daughters. Maybe one day when they have babies of their own, my day to day travails will amuse and/or enlighten them.
