blogabout
A description of my life after our son was diagnosed with Williams syndrome, a relatively rare genetic birth defect (the deletion of approximately 20 genes on one chromosome). The syndrome has been described as “fascinating and devastating” and has been featured on shows such as 60 Minutes, Medical Incredible, and Scientific American Frontiers on PBS.

blogliving
I love to write, but I am a part-time medical transcriptionist for income and am only able to write/blog in my spare time thus far. Someday I would like to write a book.

whystartblog
My blog began as an emotional outlet for some very raw feelings at first that I didn’t know what to do with. I didn’t think anybody would actually read it!

howlongblog
Since June 2006 — 3 months after our diagnosis at the children’s hospital.

howmany
I probably get 100 visits a day.

income
No. I have been quite satisified with writing via my blog and have made some very helpful connections with families who have children with this syndrome. It has also provided education for those who don’t. When I felt it became too personal to continue, I received overwhelming encouragement to continue writing and have been told I am helping others around the world. I am completely overwhelmed by the response I have received.

interestedblog
Anyone who has had a genetic disorder touch their family or has faced any kind of hardship and needs to know they are not alone.

howlongday
I write about every 2 to 3 days and spend 60 to 90 minutes on each post.

whysubscribeblog
Curiosity about a fascinating genetic syndrome, a different slant on family life, and a little humor — just a different story to read without any sugar coating whatsoever. This is where honesty lives!

whatadvicebloggers
Update frequently and don’t be afraid to express yourself.
