My blog is about whatever happens to be on my mind when I sit down at the computer. I often post poetry or short stories that are straight from the mind of Jody (me). Sometimes I simply rehash my day, or perhaps an event from my day, or my week. I am somewhat opinionated and it is not unusual for me to vent about something. I also post observations about life, people, human nature, and whatever wanders by the window in front of me. I love irony, sarcasm, humor, and simple human truths..especially those that we don’t necessarily like to admit to.

I have worked for the City of Park City, Kansas for the past 3 1/2 years. Until six months ago I was an administrative assistant and also the recording secretary for the City Council and two other city boards. Six months ago, I moved across the hall to the police department, where I currently work in the records department.

I first began to blog because I love to write. I write short stories and poetry, and sporadically submit them for publication. Although I have a stack of rejection letters, I have been published in a couple of college magazines. I love to get feedback on my writing, and blogging allows me to get feedback from totally unbiased readers, as well as from family and friends.

I have been blogging for about four years now. I did not blog from July of 2009 until January of 2010. During that time, I acquired a Facebook account and really got into that. However, after a time, I began to miss blogging. Facebook is a fun way to keep in contact with people, but it really doesn’t lend itself to the kind of expression that I enjoy. I will continue to use Facebook…but my old friend blogspot is back to stay!

I use ClustrMaps to track those who view my blog. According to their stats…I have had a total of 6,056 visits since June of 2006, and 69 views during the past 24 hours.It always amazes me to see the number of folks around the world who happen by!

My blog is not a source of income. It would be awesome if it could be! I’m always open to possibilities!

I don’t think interest in my blog is limited to any particular type of person. There is a bit of something for everyone…depending on when one happens by. If you are alive and living life…we have something in common!

The time that I spend blogging depends what’s on my mind. Sometimes I have a very clear idea of what I want to say…and I say it and move on. Other times…I ramble a bit, reconsider, edit….or even start over. Sometimes I begin with a word document, write…ponder… research…write some mkore…then sleep on it. After several days…I publish.

Why should you subscribe to my blog? Why NOT? Sharing ideas, thoughts, observations, opinions…is interesting and fun! And I’m just a little bit “off the wall”…so I’m not totally boring. A blog is a small window into the lives of people in other parts of the world, in other situations, living other life styles…even the briefest look into those windows can be educational, thought provoking, reassuring, humorous, and always interesting!

My advise to those trying to succeed at blogging is simple…be yourself! Write about what you know…what you are…and what you think about.
