I’m an Aussie ex pat living in the town of ‘blah’ somewhere in England and I think we must be the most outrageous group of people. So many characters, so much fun…
I run my own business as a personal weight loss consultant, as well as part time barmaid in a local pub. I’m a divorcee bringing up two small boys on my own, while partying as hard as I can in between!
I started blogging to tell the outrageous tales of people living in Blah, this town is a living and breathing soap opera. But over the year, all the mad/bad things seem to be happening to me!
I created this blog in a drunken moment on the 11th October 2006 after chatting to a best mate in NZ who blogs. I had never even heard of a blog before that night. I read hers, thought it looked fun and within 10 minutes created ‘Are you Local?’ I’ve been hooked ever since.
Between 100 and 150. Depends on what drama has happened at the time.
No, it doesn’t have an income. I didn’t even know blogs COULD make income! I do it for fun, and I do it as my diary. I would love to be able to write a TV series about it one day, as bloggers have commented ‘Eastenders is tame compared to the goings on in Blah!’ And it’s all true.
Anyone who likes day to day (un)real life… of a bunch of alcoholic misfits!
Too much! About 4 hours a day. Mainly in the evenings, when the kids are in bed. An hour on my own blog, the rest of the time catching up on my blog buds. Yeah, I know, I’m addicted!
ALRIGHT!!!!! Maybe more than that… I sneak some blogging in during the day if I can.
This is where I’m supposed to big myself up? Geez, if you want to read about mishaps,stupidity. humour, sorrow, anger, ex’s, stupidity, partying, stupidity, kids, fights, stupidity, friendships, loves, stupidity, sex, stupidity than this is the blog to come to (If you hadn’t of guessed, we, um, more so I, do some stupid things).
Well, if succeeding is to make lots of new friends like I have (and I’ve met quite a few bloggers, which is great) What I do is always reply to comments, and any new blogger commenting I always go and check out their blog and comment in return and I put them on bloglines to remember them.
DON’T comment on a new blog for the first time and then not go back again, expecting to pick up new readers.
DON’T beg them to come and read your blog, because that reeks of desperation (plus once a blogger did this to me, and I thought he was spam, and left a nasty ‘bog off spam’ comment, then found out at a later date I was on his blogroll!)
Post regularly. If it’s just 3 times a week you blog, make sure you do it on the same 3 days, so people get used to checking on you on those days. Me, I try to post daily. When I miss a day, some of my buddies get worried I’m drunk in a ditch somewhere(not far from the truth sometimes!).

Vi’s blog rocks! She tells it how it is - no holds barred, the tale of an Aussie trapped in the pub-laden village of Blah, Middle England. She is mostly trapped down ditches outside of pubs, obviously, but still - that’s uncomfy. Vi always replies to her commenters, and had made many blogger friendships that will last beyond blogs (gasp). She has had a crazy year since starting le blog, and reading regularly has been an insight into how she copes with death, love, war and floating goldfish. No matter what’s going on, she can illicit a laugh and often, a blush.

Hi VI, Love your blog and yes I worry if I don’t see a post from you! After all you could be stuck in a myriad of comprimising positions and how would we find you? We’d have to troll through your blog posts finding clues to your wherabouts sort of like a blog version of cluedo…blogdo?

Vi I love your blog and shamelessly you are the first on my list and even though you think I am not always around I try to check in everyday.

Eastenders? Sometimes, when it’s a really good episode, it’s nearly half as much fun as Blah as described in Vi’s blog.
