Musings from an Intermediary- Jennifer Boyes

This is the official blog for Intermediary Communications, a New Zealand owned, Auckland based public relations company. I use it to take a candid look at PR within NZ and further afield.

I am a public relations professional, which involves online communications, but I also really enjoy blogging. I guess you could say blogging is half job, half hobby!

I started blogging because not enough PR professionals are on the Web. There are not enough blogs out there tackling public relations issues and educating people on what PR actually is. I thought I would make a start with my blog offering.

I have only been working on my blog for a couple of weeks so far.

I haven’t had any visitors yet but hopefuly this will change!

My blog doesn’t have an income. It has worked so far in that it has got me thinking more deeply about the issues PR is facing at the moment and it has made me realise how important the online medium is.

Anyone interested in public relations would find this blog interesting. Even if you don’t think PR would interest you, drop by anyway. I may surprise you!

I spend a couple of hours a day blogging at the moment. I also enjoy reading other PR blogs.

I like to think that my writing is entertaining to read. I update my blog on a regular basis and would love to hear any thoughts you have on the PR industry.

We all have to start somewhere. Find a free blog site (such as blogger) and just start writing.

Also, remember that ancient piece of advice: ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’. You won’t have hoardes of people reading your blog straightaway but keep writing interesting, relevant blogs and you soon may have.
