Random musings on the daily ups and downs of life as a freelance journalist and editor

I’m a fulltime freelance journalist and editor. It’s an add-on to the daily paid-for count!

Like many freelances stuck at home all day, my job has a lot of frustrations. Blogging lets me unload some of them and also show the reality of freelancing. My mum thinks I’m not really working if I don’t go to an office. But trust me, I don’t have time to watch daytime tv (even if I wanted to). It’s actually very hard, like running any small business is.

I’m coming up for two years now. I had an earlier blog on MySpace, which ran for nearly a year (I started that when I first started freelancing) but it was the wrong place for the blog so I moved it.

I don’t blog every day. I try to blog a minimum 3 times a week and I probably get around 50 visitors a day, including those reading it on a feed.

No. I toyed with putting ads on, but decided not to. I may be a media whore, but I’m not an ad whore.

Anyone interested in journalism, words, running a business, freelancing and working from home. I also have a disability, which I occasionally blog about, because the disability affected a lot of the decisions I made about working, and still can affect my day-to-day working life.

I usually spend about 30 minutes on a post. I generally have a strong idea as to what I’ll write about – it could be something happening in the media, something that happened during my working day I need to let off steam about or a more general stream of thought on a work-related issue that I think needs debating.

Because I’m witty, articulate and (hopefully) draw a good picture of the freelance life. Plus, because I’m a wordsmith, my blog is refreshingly free of spelling errors and txtspk.

Basically, just keep writing. Be honest and true to yourself so your voice comes through and do a proofread so it’s legible. Blogs full of typos are a real turn-off for many readers.

Thanks for expressing your ideas. I would also like to convey that video games have been ever evolving. Technology advances and inventions have served create authentic and interactive games. These types of entertainment video games were not that sensible when the real concept was first of all being attempted. Just like other forms of electronics, video games also have had to progress by way of many ages. This itself is testimony to the fast progression of video games.

Thanks for helping me to achieve new concepts about pc’s. I also possess the belief that certain of the best ways to keep your mobile computer in prime condition is by using a hard plastic case, or even shell, that matches over the top of the computer. A majority of these protective gear are generally model precise since they are made to fit perfectly on the natural housing. You can buy them directly from the seller, or via third party sources if they are for your notebook, however only a few laptop can have a shell on the market. Once again, thanks for your ideas.

I have taken note that of all kinds of insurance, medical health insurance is the most marked by controversy because of the turmoil between the insurance plan company’s obligation to remain adrift and the customer’s need to have insurance policies. Insurance companies’ commission rates on health plans have become low, thus some providers struggle to gain profits. Thanks for the thoughts you talk about through this web site.
