The Coffee Shop was designed as a place to meet friends, both old and new, and to discuss absolutely ANYTHING under the sun in a totally non-judgemental atmosphere. It’s been up and running since January 2007 and has evolved into a many faceted place - I like to try and show people what living in Zambia is like, it’s beauty, it’s wildlife, it’s frustrations and it’s joys! I also like to see the funny side to life and I think this is reflected in my blog in many ways - from the dialogue and comments to the sidebar addons and pictures.
At the moment I am in Zambia as a dependent so can not officially work - hence my interest in blogging! I find it a wonderful way to express myself and to meet people from all over the world. I do it as a hobby and an interest but would quite like to make it into a paying prospect. It’s just so much fun and I’m learning more and more each day - when I started I was even more ‘computerly challenged’ than I am now 
Seriously, it’s just a really great thing to do and I often wonder what I did before I started?
I started a thread on the forum boards of a great writers site called Helium and called it ‘Coffee Anyone?’ I was astonished at the number of people who just enjoyed a place to chat about nonsense and have some fun. The blog sort of progressed from there into what it has become today. There is no one topic as such - I just run with whatever idea comes into my head on the day!
I started the original in January 2007 but it has changed several times since then. In fact I am in the middle of another reconstruction at this very moment! I like to feel that the blog has grown and matured along with me and my abilities to use the internet.
I am not absolutely sure about this one. I do have a counter which reads about 1700 at the moment but since my stat bar got lost in the new make over, I shall have to start over. It will be a challenge to see how quickly I can rebuild!
I’m afraid that I haven’t looked into making money from the blog - it really has just been a pleasant hobby for me and a way to while away the hours and meet people.
I would think that the blog would be interesting to just about anyone. I try to keep the tone light and amusing and I have some great visuals. I post lots of fantastic photos - mostly taken by my very talented daughter although I do try my hand at photography too If you have a good sense of the ridiculous then my blog should appeal to you. Also if you love to look at beautiful African sunsets and wildlife, then this is definitely a place to visit!
As much time as I can! I am addicted to the sport! Even when I’m not actually posting I am still tweaking this and that to make the site perfect
Because it is a fun site, clean and informative, funny and full of all sorts of interesting stories. I aim to be ‘user friendly’ to all age groups and types of people and am just a very cheerful and friendly person.
Go for it! Just be yourself and have fun with it. There are so many different and varying people out there and you’d be surprised at how many of them will enjoy your writing and perspective of life. Also it is a good thing to visit other bloggers and see what they are up to - you will get some wonderful insights and you will meet some fantastic people by just going out there with a friendly smile.

I’m glad to hear you’re getting back home in January. Do you plan to take the hippos? You’ll need an extra bag to pack them in. If you can’t keep them - send them Rhonda or Erik - maybe one to both, I’m sure they would love having such a wonderful pet.
It also looks like you’re working on becoming an empty nester - 18 years old and now the time will go faster than you think before she leaves the nest.
