I’ve been asked for a “mission statement” for HoopsAddict.com a couple of times and it’s always been a struggle for me to put the right words down onto paper. However, after reading Rob Bell’s “Velvet Elvis” I now have the perfect description. In his book he wrote about what he envisioned for a church when he wrote, “the more honest, the more raw, the more stripped down we made it, the more people loved it. We had no five-year plan. We had no vision statement. We had no goals. We had no demographic. All we cared about was trying to teach and live the way of Jesus. It’s still all we care about.”

Don’t worry, this site won’t be a place where myself or the other writers “preach” to you about God - we will however display our love for the game of basketball. At times our personal beliefs and our life experiences will creep into our articles but that’s just the way we write and pass on our passion for the game of basketball. Whether you agree, disagree or want to debate what we write your comments are always welcome as long as they don’t include profanity and are written in a respectful way.
