Based on a BS in Political Science and economics and my work as a stockbroker for 27 years, my posts on Mover Mike are about politics, companies and economics written with a Libertarian slant. In addition I like to write about natural disasters, geology and American culture, even items that are weird.

After changing careers to successfully work for a high tech marketing support company, I retired and encouraged my wife to open a furniture store catering to interior designers and the retail public. She had been selling furniture for others for over ten years. I support her marketing programs and receive merchandise. In addition I drive a school bus for four hours a day, post to two blogs, Mover Mike and Landfair Furniture (Blog). I was just hired by Home Accents Today to post to a third blog, The Landfair Retail Focus.

I started blogging to share my ideas and poetry and to see if others shared my views.

I started the blog in September, 2004. Now it is listed in TTLB ecosystem as #395 out of 50,000 blogs. It, also, is a blog that is judged to be one of Oregon’s mosy politically influential blogs, varying each week between #2 and #10.

Currently I am averaging 619 visitors a day. My goal is to increase this 10-fold and still I would be far smaller that the top 100 in traffic.

The blog does earn an income, not enough yet to replace my bus driving income, primarily from Adsense. I have not found a way yet for Amazon.com to pay more than just a small amount each month.

I think the curious and open minded would be interested. I also hope that those interested in good writing and a sense of humor would find their way to my side.

I probably spend 6-8 hours a day either writing or researching. Many times the topics force me into doing research that you couldn’t have interested me in doing in school. Now I research (sharp intake of breath) global warming, bio-fuels, quantum physics, geology and plate tectonics, derivatives, political and economic theory, eminent domain, pandemics, etc.

If you are a liberal, you should subscribe to read an intelligent discussion of your opposition. If you are curious, you will find out that I’m curious too. If you are into current TV, books and movies, I have an opinion.
You may also find that I don’t particularly like most politicians, and I think most of our problems are caused by big government and tell you why and maybe how to protect yourself

Be honest. If you find that what you’ve written is wrong, publicly correct it. Show the original post with the error crossed out beside the correct information.

Blog a lot and blog often, link to others and have a counter to see if what you write registers. Make your blog easy to read, Do not use a black background. Read other blogs that get a lot of traffic. Ask yourself, what are they doing right, what can I do to improve my blog. Blog because you love to blog, not for any other reason.
