Take a stroll through the brain of a city-girl recluse. I reveal tidbits about my strange life; though I try to retreat from the world I always get dragged back into its madness.

The Urban Recluse gives my personal views on my life and the people in it, pop-culture, celeb mayhem, movie and book reviews, online finds, bizarreness, sexy pics, and occasional opinions on world events.

It’s a hobby. I work as an Administrator for a counselling organisation, but that rarely gets mentioned in the blog (unlike my previous job in the evil university).

I want to be a fiction writer, but I was going through writer’s block and thought that blogging about my life and my thoughts might help to kick-start my writing again. It hasn’t worked for me in that way, but it still feels like something I should be doing.

I started this blog just over a year ago.

At the moment I get about 100 visitors a day, and about 30 RSS subscribers.

No income, call it a labour of love. A while ago I showed an advert for a sexy item, which didn’t make me any money but was quite amusing for my visitors!

Someone who is interested in funny stories, movies, television, literature, music, writing or just random bizarre stuff.

Maybe an hour a day on average.

I write about so many diverse subjects that I seem to appeal to a wide range of people from many countries.

Do you want to hear about Dirk-the-Jerk, the married man who won’t give up until he has me in his bed?

How about the sexy pics in my Sunday Sauce feature?

I like making lists, and especially enjoying putting together Thursday Thirteens.

I educate and enlighten simultaneously.

Meaty men, sexy ladies.

I even have a young rival blogger who regularly tries to belittle me (with no success whatsoever)!

Be yourself. It’s a cliché, but it’s the truth.

Also, don’t give up if you’re only getting a few visitors or a few comments; get inspiration from other blogs that you like, and comment on them.
