The Strega’s Story is a blog about one writer’s life, literary adventures, observations of the world, and occasional mention of the book I am writing, entitled The Strega’s Story.

I am a full-time freelance writer. Blogging began as a hobby and a way to sort out the process of finding an agent, getting published, etc. Suddenly something actually has begun to happen in this realm and I actually can’t talk about it online, as I am under a confidentiality agreement!

I started my blog in 2005. The subjects blossomed out in all different directions, like fireworks.

Uh…2005 (from the Department of Repetitious Redundancy)

75 to 300+, depending on what I am blogging about. This blows me away, as I am a small-town writer in an offbeat neck of the woods. Yee haw

Uh, no income except that I have Google Adsense, which I haven’t taken off because I find going into my template to be a bit of a pain. I now have enough reveune from Adsense to buy a tall latte at Starbucks, without flavored syrup. At the rate my blog is earning from Adsense, I will likely get my first one hundred dollar check from Google Adsense when I am approximately 150 years old.

Originally I thought that writers and other literary types might find this blog rather interesting, and maybe a couple of my aunts. Then, a murder happened in my small town and the readership soared…so I hope that this blog has a little something for everyone. I guess all bloggers hope for that.

One hour–half and hour researching news and other stories, the other half hour to write, and a bit more time weeding out the pesky little errors (I have the keyboarding skills of a blind cave fish).

Well…why not? Other than that, I think that it may be interesting for an audience, at this point in time, to watch a double-murder trial begin to unfold, and watch my process of covering that. I also feel that my book and the process of getting it out there can be of interest to writers, and hopefully give them inspiration to keep going. Plus, I hope my observations of life and the world are of interest to people everywhere. Given that I now have a world-wide readership from all continents except Antarctica (I’m still hoping, though), I think this is so,

Keep writing, observe the world around you, comment on things in the news and in your hometown. Don’t be afraid to stick your neck out once in awhile. Your words and thoughts are valid. And ignore your counters, at first. Use as many tools as you can to get your blog out there. Comment on other’s blogs and link to them often–if someone links to you, be a good neighbor and link to them. Progress, not perfection.
