My blog is designed solely to entertain–both my readers and myself. I’m a writer with opinions and ideas about everything and anything and this is where I spout them off.

I am a freelance writer so this blog falls somewhere between a job and a hobby.

Having written for a living for many years, I found myself becoming constricted as a writer who has had to please editors. I started this blog as a way to stretch out as a writer, exercise different writing muscles, say what I want to say without the filter of an editor, and rediscover the joy of writing.

I started blogging on MySpace in 2004 and moved to my own blog a couple of years later.

That’s a personal question I prefer not to answer.

My blog is not designed to earn money although I have earned money by exploring topics first in my blog and then developing those topics into stories or essays I have sold to paying markets.

I cover a lot of subjects and always keep the goal of entertaining my readers in mind. I try to be funny sometimes, profound sometimes, provoking sometimes. I post links, photography, video and sometimes even sketches. If you don’t like a post one day, check in the next.

I no longer post on this blog every day, but on days I do blog, I usually invest an our or so of time to each post.

My blog is entertaining and I enjoy engaging readers in discussion.

Be consistent in posting as much as possible–once or twice a month won’t cut it–and pay attention to comments. I am extremely flattered when people take the time to comment and try to respond to everyone. I learned during my years on the staff of a newspaper that once responding to readers nurtures loyalty.

Right now it looks like BlogEngine is the top blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your blog?
Have you ever thought about publishing an ebook or guest authoring on other websites? I have a blog based upon on the same subjects you discuss and would really like to have you share some stories/information. I know my readers would appreciate your work. If you’re even remotely interested, feel free to send me an e-mail.
