My blog is all poetry, all the time. I experiment quite a bit with different poetic forms in this particular blog.

I teach in the Language and Literature department at the local community college. I am also a published poet. My first book of poetry, ‘lavish lines/luscious lies’ was released in August by FireFly Publishing.

Poetry is a sort of compulsion with me. Blogging seemed like the right kind of outlet.

I’ve had this particular blog for a little over a year. I try to post a new poem at least once a week. I have other blogs, however, where I post daily poems.

I have several blogs. My Neurotica and Nonsense blog has the smallest “readership”–about 25 visitors a day.

no income, unfortunately.

When people hear that my blog consists of poetry, they assume that I have a predominantly female audience. In fact, most of my readers are men. People who read my poems tend to be well read, well spoken and looking to enjoy life.

about an hour

My blog will entertain and inspire which is no small feat in today’s world!

Create new posts on a regular basis–no matter what.

Saadia, you are definitely a true poet.
I admire the endless way you not only inspire with your words, but also the vast poetic style and structure in which the words are penned.
Beautiful woman, inside and out.

Saadia’s poetry is extremely thought provoking, personal, funny, and serious all in one. She can get you drunk off of her mastery of words and then while waiting for the next piece the sobering feeling leaves me wanting more…just faster.
She is simply an incredible Words Master.

I could not put the book of poetry down, once I began reading it… way to go, Saadia. Hope to see more of the same, very soon.
November 5th, 2007 - 10:30 pm
Saadia is gifted. Her command of words, and the way they flow, almost makes me want to kneel at her feet. I know she is headed for greatness.
November 6th, 2007 - 12:27 am
I have read Saadia’s work for few years now. She is very fluent and smooth in expressing the human feelings in the form of poetry. Keep up the good work and good luck.
November 6th, 2007 - 10:28 pm
The words in her poems are as beautiful as the notes she would play on her flute. Her poetry is magic and music put together, and it really lifts my spirit up. Way to go Saadi.
November 7th, 2007 - 7:27 pm
Saadia’s poetry flows with the grace of god and the masterful precision of a jackhammer in my heart and soul. When she’s before her computer to produce prose of any sort, then you might as well just accept that the doctor is in, and the doctor is going to put her words inside you, and there’s nothing you can do about it except become addicted.
November 7th, 2007 - 10:11 pm
Saadia’s words are an expression of what all of us feel at times. She is very playful with words. I love her poetry. Judi

November 14th, 2007 - 5:06 pm
I love Saadia. Her poetry is music to my ears.
November 19th, 2007 - 11:28 am
Saadia’s work is extraordinary, evocative, palpable, rhythmic. What most impresses me is her ability to keep getting “the word” right, time and time again, each piece more powerful and moving than the last.
November 25th, 2007 - 10:30 pm
Saadia is pretty darn excellent in my book.
November 26th, 2007 - 2:06 pm
Her words touch me on a very deep personal level…
I can almost taste her.
November 26th, 2007 - 5:58 pm

This girl is raw and real. I wish I had some of her DNA so i could clone her a**
November 27th, 2007 - 10:02 pm
I am fortunate to know Saadia personally. I went to high school with her. I loved her then and I love her now. Her husband is the luckiest man I know. She is a dream come true.
November 28th, 2007 - 9:51 am
I feel like Saadia is an old soul. She must have known Rumi in a previous lifetime.
November 28th, 2007 - 3:11 pm
Im the first to say that I hate poetry. I especially hate poetry written by women. I hate it! But I love Saadias poetry. Her mind is masculine.
November 28th, 2007 - 3:30 pm
Ohhhh, so thats what she means by the phrase “flexing my Saadia muscles.”
Unique.
November 28th, 2007 - 11:07 pm
have you ever been with her when inspiration finds her? I have and its magical. Jealous?
November 29th, 2007 - 5:27 am
Saadia’s words rock a world of poetic vice and mayhem until it spills over into my mind. I find the pulse of her heartbeat through her poems, she hooks my mind and heart, and I am swept out in the tide of her geniues.
November 29th, 2007 - 9:37 pm
Saadia Aschemann is one of a kind–I’ve seen no poet with such versatility and who delights in interacting with her readers about her craft. There’s no tedium or adherance to “norms” in her work–every piece is a scintillating delight of originality.
November 30th, 2007 - 12:32 pm
