blogabout
Eavesdrop Writer is an idea tool box for creative writing character development. It’s a repository for overheard conversations, judgements witheld, so readers can imagine their own endings. The blog captures snapshots of life through short, vivid dialogues and welcomes reader discussion.

I work in law enforcement and write as a hobby, often into the wee hours of the morning! I have many opportunities to observe human behavior at work and my blog compliments this interest. I want to write for a living some day and dream of being published.

whystartblog
My blog consists of what I overhear. I’ve eavesdropped for so many years that it’s become a science to me. But something I hadn’t worked out too well before blogging was how to best store my gems for easy, organized retrieval. I discovered blogging with all its tags, labels and archives and the lightbulb flicked on. I never dreamed others might enjoy reading it.

howlongblog
I’ve been blogging on Eavesdrop Writer for about two months. However, she feels like an old friend! I don’t know why I’ve personafied my blog as female, but what can I say. Maybe it’s because of my header graphic!

howmany
I get a modest amount, about 80 per day. But I’m excited to have almost 50 subscribers. I’m humbled, surprised and thrilled all at once about that.

income
No, my blog does not bring home any bacon. I might consider some very sparse, content-related ads someday. But for now, I like her adless.

If you’d asked me this when I started blogging, I would have said ‘writers’. Of course I still believe that, but I’ve discovered a very diverse readership of people from many different professions and walks of life. It makes sense if you consider my blog as more of a window on the world than a writer’s resource. Readers often take time to submit quite thoughtful comments. It’s fantastic to read different interpretations of the same post. I just love it.

howlongday
Well, I guess you’re forcing me to confront my adiction here. I’m limited to posting by what I overhear and when I hear it, so my posting is sporadic. But I do spend about two hours, one early morning and one late night, reading other blogs, participating in forums and looking for ways to improve mine.

whysubscribeblog
I don’t know that you should. I do know that if you read one of my posts and it stirs something in you – jars a memory, provokes a response, moves you to action in your own life – than perhaps you’d like more of the same served up fresh on an RSS feed. In that case, by all means SUBSCRIBE!

whatadvicebloggers
Be true to yourself. This means writing in your own voice about things that you’re passionate about. This might sound ironic from someone who blogs other people’s conversations. But I’m very passionate about creating engaging and interesting fiction characters and my blog helps me do that. I see many bloggers that try too hard to be funny, or smart, or cover every topic under the sun. Insincerity jumps right off the screen and into my hand which automatically clicks away on the mouse. So, be yourself. It may sound cliche, but you really are the only you and that’s all you ever have to be. Oh, and participate in blogger forums! Blogging really is a two-way street.
