I am a blog, social media and web 2.0 consultant. So my partner and i publish about 20 of our sites and we also help clients understand the power of SEO and these new tools.

I had just discovered blogs. And decided to launch 2, to test them out. One about Yorkies (because I own one -and they have been the 2nd most popular dog in the world) and the other is about gay travel.

We average 300-350 per day.

Yes. Many people see us on Page one of Google, so they come to us and want to buy ads. Paid ads work, obviously. Pay-per-click ads rarely work, unless your site is getting millions of hits a month. We used to have the Google words on our site. It took 5 years to get our first check of $100. I DO NOT recommend using those. Plus, it drives traffic away from your site to possible competition.

On this site, only about 2 hours a month.

Patience. and Persistance. Most bloggers do not know what they are doing. Or maybe they are just blogging for fun. I blog so that search engines find me, and that brings new readers. But there is formula for that, and most bloggers have no idea what they are doing.
